Who We Are
The Azure Revenue Planning team influences decision-making and implementation of strategy across the Azure portfolio. Our charter is to ensure leaders are focused on the highest ROI opportunities and initiatives. We turn insights into actions across GTM, deal structure, business model, and resource allocation/prioritization. The Azure Data team has an opening for a strong candidate to own database revenue planning.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do
You’ll be the Finance SME and key business partner for our Database portfolio. Azure Databases include some of our most critical workloads including Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and DocumentDB.
This is an exciting role in a high impact and ambiguous space, and we are looking for a candidate who thrives in accelerated, dynamic environments. The Azure business relies heavily on advanced finance partnership to enable success and you will exercise significant influence across engineering, marketing, sales, corporate strategy, and business planning organizations. You’ll need to create frameworks to clarify and synthesize requirements. Often you will bring data-driven insights to business partners and validate go/no go outcomes with rigorous financial modelling.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Excellent cross group collaboration skills including the ability to comfortably communicate with executive management at Microsoft
Ability to effectively manage multiple inputs across many stakeholders, prioritizing the effort on main drivers
Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves rapidly.
Proven analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
Exhibit a proactive and innovative mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and generate creative solutions.
Show propensity for learning, and demonstrate ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and deliver sound solutions
Executive level oral and written communication skills - ability to communicate complex analysis and models in a simple way
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and the ability to synthesize insights from large datasets
Protect
Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of financial documents and business processes.
Implement corrective measures. Supports questions regarding documentation, policy adherence, and requirements.
Recommend approved instruments and processes. Remains current on all company policies and procedures and updates others.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
